Our Story — From "Loo" to Lou

In Malaysia, there's a familiar phrase you’ve probably heard countless times —
“Eh, minum lah dulu.”
“Kopi dulu?”
“Jom nge-teh dulu!”

It’s how we invite friends, family, or even strangers to slow down and connect over a drink. It’s not just about the beverage — it’s about togetherness, pause, and presence.

That spirit is what first inspired the name “Kopiloo” — a playful twist on “let’s have a drink first.” But we quickly learned that “loo” might not translate so well — especially when some people associated it with the toilet.

So we adapted.
Loo became Lou — and with that, a new identity took shape.
